Spirituality Adventures - Lauren Hawkins
Wednesday Mar 03, 2021
Wednesday Mar 03, 2021
In this podcast, I am interviewing my niece-in-law, Lauren Hawkins. Lauren is a graduate of the University of Kansas, and she earned her master’s degree in speech pathology at Rockhurst University. She is also the founder of Lala Inspired, a photography/videography company. The favorite part of her speech pathology work is hearing the stories of her elderly patients. She decided to help families capture the treasured family stories on video. Storytelling through video is one of the best ways to preserve a spiritual legacy for your family.

Spirituality Adventures - Faith Harper
Wednesday Feb 17, 2021
Wednesday Feb 17, 2021
In this podcast episode, I am interviewing Faith G. Harper, Ph.D., author of Unf*** Your Brain. Matt Cox, a friend, and owner of Harbor Media Productions recommended the book to me. I thought, “Sounds like something I need.” Turns out, it's an excellent book. Faith is a Licensed Professional Counselor and board supervisor in the State of Texas. She is also a Certified Sexologist through The American College of Sexologists International. She is experienced in working with individual, family, and group work with community mental health settings and partial hospitalization programs. She has worked with trauma, PTSD, and the veteran community. She earned a B.A. in Psychology at the University of Oklahoma, M.A. (Community Counseling), and Ph.D. (Counselor Education and Supervision) from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She did a TEDx talk entitled “Shame, Sex, and Silence” in 2013, and she is the author of several books on emotional health and intimacy. Hope you enjoy it. I did.

In this podcast, I interview Pam Hausner on the practice of mindfulness meditation. Pam is a community teacher for the Midwest Alliance for Mindfulness, a strong advocate for social justice, and the branding and marketing entrepreneur behind Big Vision Design. She has independently taught mindfulness classes in the Kansas City Metro and partnered with Kansas City therapists to provide mindfulness training to their clientele. She said mindfulness has given her an important sense of honest grounding, and she can no longer imagine life without the practice. The last several minutes of the podcast is a guided meditation with Pam so you might want to find a peaceful place to practice. Hope you enjoy it.
